Keyword Research:
As Cnet's SEO Strategist, I took on a strategy to boost our online presence. First, I dug into keyword research using SEO tools. This helped me find popular terms like "latest smartphone reviews" and "tech news updates." These were keywords people were searching for a lot.
Creating Relevant Content:
Using these keywords, I teamed up with our writers and editors. We made a plan for what content to create. We covered different formats like articles, videos, and guides. For example, when a new smartphone came out, we made sure to have a review ready for our readers.
Keyword Prioritization:
Once the keyword landscape is established, I will prioritize keywords based on relevance, search volume, competition, and user intent. High-potential keywords with substantial search volume and aligned user intent will be the primary focus. Long-tail keywords, although individually lower in search volume, collectively contribute to a significant portion of organic traffic and cater to specific user queries. The number of Organic Keywords went from 7.9 to 8.9 million, a 5.06% increase. Our articles ranked higher for the keywords we targeted.
Semantic Keyword Clusters:
Incorporating semantic keywords is pivotal to our strategy. I will identify keyword clusters and themes surrounding our target topics. This involves identifying related keywords, synonyms, and variations that naturally coexist in user search behavior. By incorporating these semantically related keywords within our content, we can signal to search engines that our content comprehensively covers the topic.
Linking Related Content:
To help our readers find more useful stuff, I linked related articles together. If we had a review, I made sure there was a link to a guide about picking the right smartphone. This not only helped readers but also showed search engines that our site had a lot of good info.
Prioritizing Quality Backlinks:
I recognized the importance of a robust link-building strategy. Our aim was to acquire high-quality backlinks from reputable websites in the technology and journalism fields. Quality over quantity was our guiding principle, focusing on links that would truly add value to our content.
Engaging with Industry Influencers:
To kickstart our link-building efforts, I initiated collaborations with influential figures in the tech and journalism sectors. By connecting with industry leaders, we were able to secure guest contributions, interviews, and expert opinions. These contributions not only enriched our content but also brought authoritative backlinks from their websites and social platforms.
Content Promotion for Link Attraction:
We focused on creating content that was not just informative but also link-worthy. Compelling infographics, comprehensive research reports, and thought-provoking opinion pieces acted as magnets for potential link partners. By sharing these resources across our network and on social media, we naturally attracted quality backlinks from interested parties. This contribute to the growth of our outbound domains from 225K to 230K.
Collaborative Content Creation:
A cornerstone of my strategy is collaborative content creation. By partnering with thought leaders and experts, I create compelling, co-authored content that adds immense value to the industry. This collaborative content not only attracts authoritative backlinks but also reinforces our reputation as a hub of industry insights. This contribute to the growth of our backlinks from 410M to 413M.
Measuring Success and Projecting Growth:
Throughout the process, we meticulously tracked the growth of our referring domains using SEO tools. By quarter three, our efforts bore fruit as we achieved 500K Referring Domains, marking a 4.57% increase from the previous 419.6K. This accomplishment demonstrated the effectiveness of our link-building strategy in fostering valuable partnerships and earning authoritative backlinks.
Strategic Content Promotion:
I understood that creating great content was just one part of the equation. To truly maximize our organic traffic potential, a comprehensive content promotion strategy was essential. Our focus shifted from just producing content to strategically amplifying its reach across various digital channels.
Crafting Authoritative Content:
Each piece of content I create is a testament to depth and authority. My mission is to establish Cnet as the authoritative source for these specific topics. I meticulously address chosen keyword topics, weaving comprehensive explanations, detailed guides, real-world case studies, and practical insights into my content.
Leveraging Social Media Platforms:
I harnessed the power of social media platforms to extend the reach of our content. By sharing articles, videos, and infographics across platforms like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram, I engaged with our audience where they already spent their time. Creative visuals, catchy captions, and timely posts were crafted to spark interest and encourage sharing.
Measuring Success and Growth:
Quarter four was the culmination of our content promotion efforts. By consistently implementing our strategy, we projected a rise in Organic Search Traffic from 25.3 to 27.2 million visits, showcasing a growth of 4.75%. This growth indicated that our content was effectively reaching a wider audience, and our engagement efforts were paying off.
